Horatio Cain, the king of the coolest one-liners

Other 2 December 2009 0 Comments

Miami Crime Scene Investigator, Horatio Cain, is the true king of the most cool one-liners. One would have to be stupid to try to challenge him. Anyway, if you happen to find yourself on shaky grounds, you can always turn to one of Detective Cain’s one-liners and it will make you look cool and it will make an excellent foundation to base your exit on. I will here present a range of things said by the one and only, so you’re always dressed to impress. Just remember to always have a pair of sunglasses at hand, otherwise you will fail… Oh, and a small audio player with speakers is recommended to play the CSI: Miami soundtrack as you leave…

“Well, you know what they say Frank… Speed kills…”
“Drive by, Miami style…”
“You’re not gonna spend 1000 dollars on clothes, you’re never gonna wear…”
“So our accident, is not an accident at all…”
“[...] yes, and it’s time to hit back…”
“The verdict is in Frank, but they jury is out…”

I’m Twitting, does that make me cool…

Internet 1 December 2009 0 Comments

I’m on Facebook, I’m blogging and now I’m also writing Tweets. A few months back I read about Twitter and thought I would give it a try. After a few Tweets I gave up… Not because it was difficult, not because I didn’t knew what to Tweet about but mainly because no one would read my SMS-long messages. Now as I’ve created this blog I’m giving it a try once more and I’ve already have one Follower, woohoo! But I’m wondering if Twitting makes me one of the cool people?

Microsoft releases four ‘Family Guy’ clips featuring W7

Computer 1 December 2009 0 Comments

Before the release of W7, Microsoft went to Fox for marketing their upcoming operating system. The team behind ‘Family Guy’ went to work and before the release they showed the Redmond-based W7 team an early version of the episode. Unfortunately Microsoft jumped ship and abandoned the project due to various sensitive topics.

But now Microsoft have had a change of heart and shows four clips of how W7 should have been integrated in the episode in their official YouTube-channel.

The clips can be found here.

Call off COP15, we have a new crisis

Other 1 December 2009 1 Comment

The upcoming Climate Change Conference in my hometown are very important. However, at the moment there’s an even larger-scale crisis presenting itself. My LCD TV just went black in about 1/3 of the screen estate. That means everytime Gil Grissom or Horatio Cain from the CSI-series are in the right side of my screen I cannot see them. That mean I must settle for only hearing the famous one-liners from Detective Cain.

THIS IS BAD !

My trusty Lenovo T61 broke down

Computer 30 November 2009 0 Comments

Okay, not quite because that would be very unlikely (yes, I’m a Lenovo fan). But I did have a few issues with my T61. First, the cover sitting over the CPU and CPU fan were loose in one side and could be depressed 0,5-1,0 mm. Not much, but it would still annoy me as I’ve now discovered the problem. Secondly, and this is not really a big issue, the LCD cover starts to show some wear on the corners. Lenovo LCD covers have always been using a kind of rubberized texture which is very nice, but it tends to wear off. Same thing happened with my T60.

Although these things are within what I will call reasonable issues I called Lenovo and they said they would send me a new cover for the CPU and CPU fan. The LCD cover would have to be replaced by Lenovo technicians but if I wanted I could send it in for repair and they would do it for free. This is very good service and I will definitely buy Lenovo again.

Finance is a deal-breaker

Climate Change Conference 30 November 2009 0 Comments

The EU might be prepared to come to climate negotiations in Copenhagen without all new funding for developing countries’ adaptation for climate change, writes the Guardian.

Finance now threatens to become the main obstacle to securing a global climate deal at Copenhagen, writes the Guardian.

The Guardian has read confidential papers from the EU negotiating team indicating that the EU will not guarantee new additional funds to help developing countries to adapt to climate change.

Failure in Copenhagen is not an option

Climate Change Conference 2 October 2009 0 Comments

If the world fails to deliver a political agreement at the UN climate conference in December, it will be “the whole global democratic system not being able to deliver results in one of the defining challenges of our century”, says incoming COP15 president, Connie Hedegaard.
