400 delegates arrived in Copenhagen last night travelling from Brussels, Belgium by train.
“This train is a symbol that railway can be the backbone of a new more CO2-friendly transport policy” said the first passenger to step off the train, Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of the International Union of Railways (UIC).

If the world fails to deliver a political agreement at the UN climate conference in December, it will be “the whole global democratic system not being able to deliver results in one of the defining challenges of our century”, says incoming COP15 president, Connie Hedegaard.
